Farm Cave Structures and Seljalandsfoss

On the south coast of Iceland there are some 200 cave/structures on 90 farms. Many have been placed on the national historic register. These were used mostly for hay and animals. Ron and Doug are standing on the stile that leads to Rutshellir Cave, the only one we could walk inside.

And one last waterfall—Seljalandsfoss, the waterfall with a trail that leads back behind it.

We ate lunch at a farm café today. The waitstaff all wore black t-shirts with an Icelandic saying on the back. I asked the manager about it and she said it was a saying from her dad who died several years ago. He would ask someone in a very serious tone, “What’s wrong with you?” Then when they’d look a little startled, he’d finish with, “Nothing, you’re wonderful.” It made me miss my dad and his many sayings.
